I've been writing a grant proposal for the first time in Japanese. I found it extremely difficult or almost impossible. It seems like I need to re-learn "proper" Japanese for writing scientific sentences... But, several colleagues and friends helped me improve my Japanese writing for the proposal. I'm super thankful for the super awesome people!
生まれて初めてニホンゴでサインエンスのグラントプロポーザルを書いているのだけれど、ニホンゴでサイエンスについて書くのがこんなに難しいものだったとは。。。全く正しいニホンゴが使えない。単語もよく知らない。でも親切な友人や同僚の助けで、ちょっとは読める感じになってきた。謝謝！
Dissection scopes arrived! Zeiss stem 305 is great because it already has two (!) LED (!!) light sources on it. Its price was also reasonable (200K yen each). I can't wait to use it.
今日は、Zeissの実体顕微鏡が届いた。まだハエ達は、quarantine roomにいるのだけれど、早くこの顕微鏡をラボで使えるようになるといいな。
Finally a second external display arrived today! I hope my productivity will be tripled...
これで、仕事効率も３倍増しになったらいいのだけれど。
Miyauchi-san, a new member, joined our lab today. Lab equipment started to arrive gradually. It is getting a little bit like a real lab. People who use the CDB aquarium hosted a welcome BBQ party for us. I met a lot of interesting people. I appreciated that this was a great place again.
今日から宮内さんが加入。ラボのモノも少しずつ揃い始めて、何となくラボっぽくなってきたかも。
夜に、水棲動物棟関連の方々に、welcome BBQをしていただいた。色んな人と話したんだけれど、オモシロイ人が多かった。神戸に来てよかったな、と再び思った。
The Kuranaga lab hosted a welcome dinner for us. I'm really grateful for them.
七夕の日に、隣の倉永ラボの方々＋岡本さん＋近藤さんに、歓迎会をしていただいた。神戸のサイエンティストたちは、とてもナイスだ。神戸に来て以来、倉永さん含め、色んなPIsと事務方さんにお世話になっている。感謝。
